While researching some of the ingredients to this face mask I located some mixed reviews stating that the mask felt like it burned some with others not having any issue. First of all Turmeric, the main spice in curry...that does tend to have a burn-feeling aspect or property. Then you have lemon, which is more acidic in nature as a liquid unless consumed within one's body to fully be metabolized as its minerals are dissociated in the bloodstream with its effect as being alkalizing...okay...enough science, basically it means it'll burn. This is why my use addendum noted above is for those with sensitive skin to use at the lower wait time spectrum...maybe not even the minimum 10 minutes. Granted there are several home-brew facial masks you can mix up with these particular two ingredients as well as the honey and milk contained in this mix, but that doesn't mean those are completely calming for the more aggressive ingredients. So be prepared, regardless of skin sensitivity type, to follow up with a soothing moisturizer or even aloe vera and a cold compress.
So after my research I felt better prepared to try out this face mask. This is perhaps the longest wait-time for a Posh facial mask that I've seen currently. I don't think given my skin sensitivity that it would be advisable for me to put it on for a long time. Plus, when researching facial mask use in general, putting a mask on longer doesn't guarantee that it performs better and in fact might even cause irritation. I waited a bit after receiving this sample to try when I didn't have to worry about being out in public and could remain home for most of the weekend. Just in case I needed to spend time calming my skin from any irritation I may experience after an initial wrist-skin test.
As per usual, a little goes a long way is usually the case with many of the Posh products I've tried and almost my mantra at this point. I'm not certain how much product was used by the individuals that stated this particular Posh facial mask to result a burning sensation of their skin, but it might have been more than would be recommended. I waited for the lower wait time when using this mask and about a few minutes in I felt a slight heat on my skin where the mask had been applied, but no real burn that would have me washing it off immediately. I even let it sit on my face longer up to the recommended longer wait time without any issue. It left my face feeling clear and with a light healthy pinker tinge that was probably brought out by the heat element within the mix.
While this particular face mask isn't currently available through the Perfectly Posh site, if you're interested in picking one up a Posh Consultant may still have some available. You may have to check around...granted I've also seen some available through Amazon.com, but it's best to go through a consultant first. In general, I've seen that there are several 'mocked' up products for both makeup and pamper care listed in the massive online shopping venue and to ensure proper quality it's best to obtain your product direct. This may not be for everyone but if you happen to get a sample or full size of this product-- take care if you have sensitive skin to be on the safe side. Otherwise, once a week might be the best use for this particular face mask.
