I was a bit surprised with this sunscreen when I first opened the tube. Thankfully it's got a tight foil seal under the cap to keep the contents from flowing out when being shipped. I was surprised that it was very liquid-y instead of a slightly thin cream once opening the product. I waited a bit before posting this experience with the product because I wasn't 100% sure yet if that was the natural state of this sunscreen or if this might be due to one of my housemates checking the mail and then leaving it in their car for about 8 hours in the hot southern heat. It was good to know that while I'd been used to other sunscreens having a slightly thicker consistency that this Posh product hadn't been damaged due to a lack of concern in postage handling by a housemate. So I've gotta give it points for durability since the heat in this area gets bad enough that you can start baking cookies on your dashboard around this time of year.

This product is stated as a broad spectrum facial sunscreen with SPF 30 (sun protection factor) to help protect from UVA/UVB (ultraviolet) rays. UVA rays tend to penetrate deep into the dermis or thickest layer of the skin while UVB rays will usually burn the outermost layers which result in sunburns. This sunscreen mix is a mineral-based Zinc Oxide (6%) and Titanium Dioxide (4.6%) blend to help hydrate with time-released safflower oleosomes during the day.

Application can be used on its own or under makeup but should be applied about 15 minutes before being exposed to the sun. To best keep this product at effectiveness, it's best to protect it from excessive heat and sun, so you may want to toss this in the beach bag or keep it in the shade when out enjoying the warm weather. This product is intended to help prevent sunburn, provided that its used as directed with other sun protection measures as unprotected exposure to both types of UV rays can lead to premature aging and wrinkling of the skin as well as an increased risk of skin cancer.

Throwing Shade states it's good for sensitive skin and since I've been using it I haven't had any adverse reaction with my own sensitive skin. As odd as the more liquid-y form of this sunscreen is...I have to admit it works very nicely to apply under before my make-up for the day. The price tag is a little on the high side for me as far as sunscreens go, but I've found few that allow for daily application under make-up without making you look like a monster later on in the day as the mix from the sunscreen fight with the make-up to the point that you'd rather go without-- sunscreen only works if you actually wear the stuff. A little goes a long way and I've been using this for days and now that the sun is out in full force from the prior rains, I haven't felt my face heat up so much when outside for longer periods of time. This seems to be doing the job nicely, and for those that get a lot of exposure during summer events or even summer chores...this will help keep your skin protected from sunburn.
